Sage workstation setup after US PR 7.3F

Happy New Year everyone and thanks for your business! This year has started off with some interesting issues. Sage released their latest US Payroll update 7.3F last month as well as Product Updates for Sage 300 ERP 2017, 2018 and 2019. You must have the latest Product Update installed prior to applying the Taxtable update 7.3F.

I have noticed two very different technical issues after applying Product Update 8 for Sage 2017 and US Payroll update 7.3F. After reinstalling Sage workstation, the pre-requisite Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (x86) failed to install. If you continue with the installation, Sage doesn't give any other errors but if you try running any Payroll option, you will receive error "Control cannot be created..." The solution was to uninstall all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (x86)and then run workstation setup again.

In another instance, when Product Update 4 for Sage 300 ERP 2018 was installed and then US Payroll update 7.3F, the Payroll module disappeared from the list of modules. The resolution to this issue was to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2017 (x86). Although there is a 64-bit version, I have found that only the 32-bit version allows the Payroll module to be seen again.
